Giyani Science Centre
Giyani, Limpopo Province, South Africa

The Giyani Science Centre is situated in Giyani, tucked towards the Punda Maria gate leading to the legendary Kruger National Park, 160 km north-east of Polokwane, the capital of the Limpopo Province.

This unique interactive centre provides free entrance to both the adult and school community to come and see, inter-alia, live mammals, live fish, and to perform or be demonstrated wonderful experiments  such as the "magic ball", the "Foucault Pendulum", etc.

Schools apply to enter for the Centre's multiprogrammes such as enrichment lessons in science, mathematics, electronics, computer literacy and the Mobile Unit. The Centre itself boasts a 300-seater lecture theatre, computer rooms, science laboratory, electronics laboratory and a library.

The Giyani Science Centre is open from 7h30 - 16h30 Monday to Thursday, and 7h30 - 13h30 every Friday. It is closed on weekends and public holidays. Visitors are welcome on application.
